I have been a student of Spanish as a second language for over 10 years. I now teach both English and Spanish as a second language. For English, I teach several adults, many of them are travelers, immigrants, and refugees that have found themselves in the United States for many reasons. For Spanish, I mostly teach elementary and high school students.

When I was a student of Spanish, music was one of my favorite and most effective ways to learn. Translating and memorizing song lyrics was the fastest way I could understand how to use difficult vocabulary and colloquial phrases in actual sentences. This is now a tool I utilize with my students, mimicking some of lessons my teachers used with me and creating my own.
